Judging if a website is reliable

1.) a good website will tell you who it's for and what it's trying to tell you , who did it and what's it for
2.) Sometimes people can be biased on the Internet. The rule is to try to look at other people's point of view to see why they created the site
3.) Checkpoint has help me know where to find the author name, and base on that author name i can find is that author reliable
4.) Read through the information and then decide whether it has really told you what it said it would
5.) do not trust any website that provide you only 1 option Because they want you to trust only their website, usually the website's fake
6.) If the website doesn't answer your questions, it is not useful to you. The more answers you can find, the better the site.

Check Point

Is the information biased in any way?

Sometimes information from websites can be biased. You should look at the information to see if it's biased or unbiased and you need to look at why the author created the website. Maybe because he or she wants to:

-Advertise a product or service
-change how you think- probably their point of view

It's impossible to be completely unbiased and you must try to think of different people's point of view.

The Guide to Internet Searching

Ways to improve is to
- Don't include common words like 'and' or 'the' in your searches
-Don't write sentences or questions when you search
-Put quotation marks if you're searching for a saying
-Put + sign if you want to include something else besides the main subject and put - sign if you want to exclude something out besides the main subject
- Try to be specific as possible to have good search results
- Effective searching is important because sometimes you didn't follow these rules and get unexpected results that you don't like because the program trashed your common words and twist everything around.

ICT Homework Greeting Card

I chose a greeting card to do the second assignment. What i changed about this greeting card was made the box outside a color from light pink to a darker pink so it will stand out more. I still keep the 'Happy Mother's Day' phrase but changed the color from a black font to a pink font to match the box outside. I deleted the two pictures of a circle and a crown and instead replaced it with a picture from clip art of two yellow roses because they're more unique than the one with the crown.

ICT Homework Calendar

I changed this picture by making the the white plain background a joyful green and add a nice little darker green border around it. I changed the month from March to June because I love summer, changed the box color from black to green and changed the font to a bigger size. I erased the picture of the sunset and added two new pictures from clip art of the nice island, beach and blue sky and the second picture was sands, seashells and beach slippers. I added two neat black borders around each one of the picture and move the text box with the picture closer to the one with the number of dates in June.

Car Re Edit

I use the magic wand to erase the unnecessary back ground and keep the car. I also add a new pink layer to it!

Statue of Liberty

I copied and paste this picture from Mr. Michael's file, made it black and white, use the eraser to kind of color the statue of liberty to make it more stand out!

my first ICT blog post

Hi! I'm Ann and I'm in the seventh grade. I'm studying ICT this semester and I'm looking forward to it. My advice to all those kids that are new to ICT is don't play games while the teacher is speaking and explaining. Pay careful attention to what the teacher said and follow them. Turn off your computer screen so you won't get distracted by anything. Try to catch up to the others while doing your project if you're behind. You sure need a blog and a Twitter and you have to remember Mr. Michael's blog. Of course, you will need to do your homework and work hard on your projects or else you will get low grades. My goal for ICT is to be able to use audacity and record things since I was terrible last year because I didn't pay attention.
